Louise Jones
Community Team Leader
Louise is a resident of Winson Green after moving here from University in 2019. She began volunteering with the charity in 2016 when NCT formed and now lives at the heart of the neighbourhood. She has a passion to see the community thrive, and develop the amazing gifts and talents waiting to be discovered. As well as her role as co-community team leader with Mandy, Louise oversees the Olympus Community Hub where parents from the local high school, Windsor Olympus Academy meet throughout the week for support, fun and a place to gather.

Alex Clarke
Mens Mental Health Support, Creative Arts Coordinator
Alex was born and raised in the local neighbourhood, he is an artist and designer and brings with him local knowledge and connections as well as expertise and great skills in the field of art and design. Alex coordinates our creative arts centre by offering guidance and mentoring of people wanting to use creative outlets for their mental and physical health recovery.

Mandy Winstanley
Community Team Leader (lived Experience)
Mandy has been with NCT since 2021 as our centre manager at Lodge Road drop in centre. She is now also our co-community team leader (lived experience) with Louise. She comes to us with her lived experience in homelessness and drugs/alcohol recovery, she brings her many years of wisdom and can support our most complex neighbours through life's struggles.

Ella Tucker
Social Media Manager
Ella was born and raised in Birmingham and at 20 years old is part of our new wave of young employees in 2021, aiming to future proof our charity. Ella manages our social media sites and website. She also provides IT support which includes creating logos for social enterprises that develop within Newbigin Trust. She has been apart of the creative projects within NCT and helped run kids clubs and craft groups. Now in 2024 Ella lives in our Community in Winson Green with her family and the newest member of the team baby Macey.

Maryse Degbegni
Accounts Manager
Maryse joined our team in November 2022 and has undertaken a complete overhaul of our financial systems. She has experience in working in accounts with charities, doing payroll and liaising with the charities commission. We are so glad to have here managing our financial systems.

Basil Clarke
Creative Arts Coordinator
Basil was born and raised in the local neighbourhood. He is a talented musician and well connected in Birmingham music and arts scene. As response to covid lockdowns Basil started music for mental health group called MIND FUNK which has led to many other music group developments. The latest group meets on a Tuesday afternoon at the Lodge Road Community Hub where weekly jam sessions and recording takes place.

Chrissi Davidson
HR, Grant and administrative lead
Chrissi has established and lead our community hub based at Benson community school. She has now taken the position of operations manager and oversees the team, HR and staff training as well as managing and writing bids. Chrissi brings high level organisation skills to Newbigin Trust and is setting up more streamlined management systems to ensure the charities future.

Dominic Mould
Community Worker
Dom has recently joined us and is part of our music groups and is putting together a Newbigin choir! He also takes part in our kid's roller skating and bell boating and helped run our kids summer scheme. He is a very talented photographer and has brought many skills to Newbigin and is up for taking part in anything!

Sharmin Miah
Admin Assistant
Sharmin supports Chrissi with administration and HR. She helps by setting up new structures for our changing environment, doing inductions for new volunteer's and new staff joining Newbigin Trust. Sharmin is an experienced community worker in her own right also working for Homestart

Megan Tucker
Children and Families Project Manager
Megan is a qualified teacher and comes with years of experience in both the public and community sector. Megan's passion is in supporting families with SEN children and adults and co-ordinates a team of staff and volunteers running moms and toddler's children and families programs across 3 sites at Newbigin Trust.

Kyah Pinnock
Kids Worker, Infant Feeding Advocate
Kyah is a local mom who came to us as a volunteer. She now co-leads the infant feeding initiative/moms and toddlers group and is also part of heading up our kids' clubs. Kyah brings experience as a mom of three as well as local knowledge, many connections and plenty of energy to our team.

Dan Reid
Kids/Youth Worker, Youth Mentor
Dan is a local resident who comes to us with previous youth and community experience. Dan is part of the team based at our hub in the new high school as well as continuing to help lead our youth Program. Dan is also trained in paddle sport and is a member of British Canoeing, helping to run the Newbigin Paddle program. Dan is a great asset to our team.

Adult Support Worker, Roller Skating Instructor
N9ne is as local community activist and well known across the community as a Dance and roller-skating instructor. He comes with a wealth of experience and knowledge after many years community work. Nine brings his energy and skills as well as his lived experience supporting those most struggling in our community. He currently heads up The Golden Ages(over 60s) program as well as the weekly adults roller-skating sessions.

Johanna Warren
Olympus Hub Assistant
Johanna is a born and bread Brummie who has been volunteering with Newbigin at the Olympus Community Hub for a year. In September 2024 she began officially working at the community hub to support the hub lead. As a parent of a child at the school herself, Johanna is a warm and welcoming presence who connects parents and the wider community with activities we are running at the hub. She makes way for members of the community to utilise their skills and we are so grateful to have her on the team!

Malieka Muirhead
Kids & Youth and Eco Hub Worker
Malieka joined the NCT team first as a volunteer, and then as staff in 2024 as a Kids & Youth and Eco Hub Worker. She provides support and creativity to the Youth and Kids Team. Maleika leads and assists in Eco activities at least once per week, in partnership with Eco Hub at Windsor Olympus Academy Eco Field and Hub space.

Kiran Shahzadi
Benson Hub Assistant
Kiran began serving the Community through Newbigin activities as a volunteer in 2019. In 2024 she joined the NCT Staff team as a Community Hub Assistant based at the Benson Community Hub site to support the Manager. Kiran positively and professionally connects community members to Newbigin activities, leads some sessions herself, and makes way for members of the community to utilise their skills too. She is a warm and welcoming part of the NCT team.

Nadia Hussain
Hospitality Assistant
Nadia has been on NCT staff team since 2023 and is based at the Lodge Road site on the Hospitality team. She is an amazing help in the Community Cafe, assisting the kitchen managers, ensures food is prepared in line with food hygiene standards, and always deals with customers in a professional and friendly manner. Nadia also keeps the premises clean and tidy.
